Invitations That Set the Stage

Before guests even arrived in Montecito, they were treated to a preview of the magic to come through bespoke invitations from Iris & Marie Press. “I found Shana years ago on Instagram and knew immediately that I wanted to work with her,” Lyndie said. “Her style is unmatched, and she totally nailed our vision. Our guests raved about the invites and how they set the tone for the whole weekend.”

Not only did Shana design the paper suite, but she created several keepsake pieces for the couple that Lyndie will treasure forever.

A Wedding That Felt Like Them

From the day they began curating their Pinterest board to the moment guests walked in, every detail reflected Lyndie and James’s shared love for good food, good music, and memory making.

They began with a palette of green, red, and pink, drawing inspiration from traditional Italian tones but giving them a softer, more romantic twist. Green brought in an earthy balance, red added richness and depth, and pink (along with bridesmaids in pastels gave it all a playful, vintage charm. They even found a way to bring in Lyndie’s love of leopard print and sparkle, bringing all of their favorite elements together in a way that still felt like a wedding.

A Supper Club Soirée with a Retro Heart

“I wanted the event to feel like a special and glamorous evening for our guests—more of a fancy gala or stylish after-party than a traditional bridal-themed wedding,” Lyndie shared. “We leaned into our love for historic Hollywood, Montecito, and classic Italian restaurants. We weren’t afraid to be a little kitschy, either!”

The aesthetic was purposefully timeless but flirted with retro nods—from Lyndie’s Priscilla Presley-esque bridal look to their tiki-themed cocktail hour and leopard print accents. The night unfolded like a cinematic experience, with each space and scene revealing a new layer of mood, sparkle, and story. Our guests had so much fun getting dressed up and embracing the vibe too. Everyone looked incredible—it was such a fun excuse to wear something bold.”

The Reception Venue

The Montecito Club was the obvious choice for Lyndie and James once they stepped onto the property. “The Spanish-style architecture, ocean views, and beautiful gardens felt like the ultimate California dream—and a perfect backdrop for our theme.” The couple also tied the knot at a stunning nearby Spanish-style Catholic church, just down the road from the club, adding tradition and romance to the already show-stopping affair.

One of the most memorable elements? The grand dining room reveal. “James and I were away taking photos, and when the doors opened to the dining hall, guests literally gasped. It was stunning.”

“The vision was a mix of classic Italian dining culture and mid-century supper club glamour. Think Rat Pack energy, shared plates, moody lighting, and a hint of tiki fun. The color palette—green, red, and pink—pulled from rich Italian tones with a playful twist.”

The team incorporated whimsical touches like a custom heart marquee, leopard print accents, and custom stir sticks at cocktail hour to reflect Lyndie’s personality. “We even added tinsel to the chandeliers for that magical shimmer—fun, festive, and still wedding-worthy,” the planner noted.

Any advice you’d offer to other couples planning their wedding?

“I had spent some time building a moodboard on pinterest before planning and was able to share it with all the vendors as we moved forward. I referred to it constantly throughout the process to keep my mind in check while making decisions. Also, I was super anxious and overwhelmed when first starting about planning. I didn’t know where to start but after we looked at a few venues and locked in a date I was able to take a deep breath and relax. Our planner was SUCH a godsend too – if your budget allows, you won’t regret having a planner help you stay organized.”
