From the Bride…We wanted our wedding to be a rustic and romantic Mexican fiesta. We aimed to blend the natural, glowing, beauty of our California venue with a vibrant and fun fiesta. We incorporated an eclectic mix of fiesta colors in magenta, coral, orange, and red for the flowers and balanced it with a champagne, blush, and gold backdrop for the linens and bridesmaids dresses. We used the long toscana wood tables with burlap runners with a mix of succulents potted in El Pato cans, lanterns, gold mercury glass votives, and smaller bright flower arrangements in colorful vintage glass bottles and vases as the centerpieces. My bouquet was made up of peonies, garden roses, dahlias, poppies, and succulents tied with an antique gold ribbon (the little branch- meg) and pinned with my Grandma Helen’s broach in memory of her.

Chris and I were both working at Mexican restaurants in Manhattan when we met, so we knew we wanted to have a fiesta, specifically modeled after out favorite restaurant El Centro, in Hell’s Kitchen, which was where we met. The restaurant had an entire wall covered in Milagros, hand painted Mexican ornaments, and we used those ornaments as our inspiration and placed them throughout as a way to bless the space and a token of where we met. We also had a place where guests could make a wish for us by pinning a small various shaped gold milagro onto a cloth, that we now have hanging in out home. We had delicious upscale Mexican food (Robert- Command Performance) and even churro and margarita cupcakes (Heather Memarian www.lapastelbakeshop.com/). Obviously there was plenty of red sangria and margaritas (tequila provided by Bonita)! We wanted a beautiful ceremony with lots of music, followed by an incredible party. I don’t think I have ever seen so many people on a dance floor, it was packed: thanks mainly to Jason Jones who played the perfect mix of fiesta and contemporary music (elegant event entertainment). We closed the night with an epic mega mix that we created of all of our guests favorite dance songs, which we collected on the RSVP cards. Other highlights were the guest made flips books.
