Elegant Brockington Hall Wedding

Around these parts, we believe a pop of color is good for the soul. And when that pop o’ color happens to come in the form of a peony, dahlia and ranunculus packed bouquet? All the better. Jade + Matthew Take Pictures sent over all the pin-able eye candy, and you can find lots, lots more right over here.

From the wedding planner, Andrea Harper….When you know, you know, was basically the theme for Laurie and Brent’s special day. Even with a two month window between the time that they hired me and their event, everything fell into place just as it was meant to be. Laurie and Brent stumbled upon their wedding venue, Brockington Hall, on a previous trip to the city and they fell in love with the ornate style of the Southern Mansion’s front porch. They knew they wanted a laid back ceremony & reception that was easy and fun! I found Whitefield Chapel and knew the sweet Southern chapel would be perfect for them and their guests. It was the perfect location, and the property was a great backdrop for wedding party photos and the like. One of the couple’s favorite things to do together is to listen to live music, so we hired City Hotel, a local Blue Grass band, to play at their ceremony as well as during their cocktail hour.

Laurie, her daughters, who were also her bridesmaids, all wore J. Crew dresses, and they looked as though they had just walked out of a catalogue, simply stunning! Brent’s son (also his groomsman) made the shirt that Brent wore, a sweet and meaningful sentiment. The flowers were all done by Harvey Designs. Laurie wanted bright pinks, oranges, and specifically peonies in her bouquets and Amy Harvey delivered, finding a peonie supplier in the middle of July? No sweat! They were beautiful. She even managed to create a flower filled guitar, something I picked up as a tribute to the couple’s love for live music. The Cake design mimicked the beautiful flowers in Laurie’s bouquet, and was a lovely decoration to the venue, all on it’s own. We had the rental company make custom chevron printed napkins and Samantha Sanford, our graphic designer carried the chevron design throughout in the food signage, and cards for guest welcome bags, a lovely tie in.
