Ever since the stunning work of Erich McVey first popped up on our radar, beautiful weddings have only ever followed. He tells a story through his lens in a way very few can, and today we’ve planned an entire Day o’ McVey to celebrate just that. First up – an upstate New York affair that perfectly embodies tradition with a twist. Planned in the hands of Events That Matter, this one is far too good to miss.
From Erich McVey… Brett and Kristin’s beautiful wedding day had a special energy. It was quiet and serene, but with a low rumble of excitement and anticipation. Filled to the brim with beautiful details, but also genuine and sincere. Both traditional and new. There was something so uniquely “Brett and Kristin” about the entire celebration that made it feel like you were witnessing an undeniably epic event just being there. The ceremony and reception reflected who they are both as a couple and as individuals, with family traditions, special dances, and music composed just for their wedding by a close friend’s band.
Brett and Kristin waited until the ceremony to see one another, which began with a meeting of the families for a blessing. Kristin’s father lead her down to where Brett and his parents waited. Together, Brett, Kristin and their families shared tears, laughter, hugs and and words of wisdom and blessing. They then walked together down the grassy hill to the ceremony site where their guests were seated. It was a beautiful way to begin a sacred ceremony, bringing the families together to share in the moment, walking as one, down to the wedding site.
After the beautiful ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails and music by the pool, followed by an incredible dinner and a lot of dancing under their gorgeous Sperry tent. It was the perfect end to a beautiful day on a warm summer night. Friends laughing and dancing, families joining, and Brett and Kristin now married!
