No one has time to plan a wedding. You certainly don’t. Yes, you, juggling the keys and the phone and the bursting purse and the bridal-fair fliers and the bag lunch. No, wait. You forgot your lunch. You’re way too busy to peruse stacks of magazines and scroll through wedding websites for advice on everything from designing usher cards to picking a good limo company.
So, here we are. I’ve gone through the sites and mags and books so you don’t have to. Here I present the 1,001 best wedding-planning tips, only the best for you, sweetheart. I’ve got design ideas. I’ve got logistics advice. I’ll tell you about the coolest color-popping cocktails (purple martinis?), the most eye-catching centerpieces and the snazziest lime-green flowers. And I have tons of thoughts on saving money. (Yes, dress shops: We’re looking at you.)
These 1,001 brainstorms are perfect for when you’re newly engaged and need some great ideas – fast – on where to get started planning. Skim these ideas and use them to help jump-start your own creativity. For example, I have a whole section on choosing your wedding colors.
This book is also designed for those of you who are farther into the planning process and getting a bit tired. My wedding tips are all 140 characters or less: bite-size and snappy, great for when you just have no brain cells left to think up ideas for cake toppers.
I’ve broken the book into consecutive chapters, from save-the-date cards all the way through to honeymoon itineraries. In the back is a big planning timeline that you can use as a checklist.
I want to include you all under my big wedding tent. Having an interfaith event, a military ceremony, a destination event, a same-sex wedding? Planning the most traditional of church weddings, or a steampunk-vintage bash? I’ve got tips for all of you.
Jump right in and read a few tips here and a few there: whatever helps make your schedule easier even as your heart goes jitterbugging around with excitement.
XOXO,
